Medium Lisa O'Connor - A Night of Spiritual Connections

Sunday, November 10, 2019 | 4pm-6pm | Admission $55

Join renowned Psychic Medium Lisa O'Connor for an evening of spiritual connections at Jasper Hill.  Enjoy dinner and cocktails as Lisa shares her insight and helps those grieving the loss of their loved ones.  Light appetizers are included.  Dinner from our full menu is available for purchase.

Biography

My journey started in 2008 when my Mother was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer at this time my Grandparents started to appear to me, this was the first time I saw spirit. As a child I would feel spirit around me and knew something was different. To learn more and understand what I was experiencing I sought out council from another medium who is also now a great friend and a mentor to me and I will be forever grateful. With this gift it is my mission to help those that are grieving and those with unanswered questions. Since I have started to do readings I have noticed something very important, the people I see don’t just come in for a reading and then we say goodbye after the session and that’s it, I have started to develop a second family. I am in contact with my clients after their readings and I have made many lifelong friendships.  In 2014 I wanted to start to give back to those still grieving and this is when I created “Keeping the Spirit Alive” a support group for those still having difficulties during the grieving process. The group meets monthly and has been a great help to the members as well as myself, I feel such a great sense of personal satisfaction and it is something I look forward to and looking to the future it is something I will continue to build on with new ideas to help those in need. Book Signing & Meet "Wicked Pissed" Author

Monday, April 4, 2016 | 7pm to 9pm

Free admission!  All ages welcome.

Join us for a book signing of "Wicked Pissed"! Enjoy dinner, drinks and a lecture by Chronicle reporter and the book's author Ted Reinstein. Books will be available for purchase.

From sports to politics, food to finance, aviation to engineering, to bitter disputes over simple boundaries themselves, New England’s feuds have peppered the region’s life for centuries. They’ve been raw and rowdy, sometimes high minded and humorous, and in a place renowned for its deep sense of history, often long-running and legendary. There are even some that will undoubtedly outlast the region’s ancient low stone walls.

Ted Reinstein, a native New Englander and local writer, offers us fascinating stories, some known, others not so much, from the history of New England in this fun, accessible book. Bringing to life many of the fights, spats, and arguments that have, in many ways, shaped the area itself, Reinstein demonstrates what it really means to be Wicked Pissed.

THANKS TO YANKS

Thanks to Yanks, is a non-political 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to support military members, veterans and their families. This organization, founded by Michael Shain in 2006, began with a 9/11 Tribute Dinner to recognize the sacrifices military families endured in response to the 9/11/01 attack on America. Mr. Shain did not want Americans to forget the heroes and victims of that tragic day nor did he want our military members, veterans or their families to think they were alone in their struggles. What was to be a onetime event, has turned into an annual 9/11 tribute dinner. Continue reading...

The Jasper Hill Antidote Workshop for Parents

Tuesday, February 23, 2016 | 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Conducted by Jeff Levin, MAT, MSW, guitar & vocals and Dave Cirella, guitar & vocals

FREE!  Call 774-233-0853 to register.

At Angier School, Newton, Massachusetts, in the mid-sixties, Jeff Levin and his classmates frequently played Bombardment in gym class: eight red rubber balls, organized chaos, great fun! The worst that could happen was getting smacked in the face, risking a bloody nose. As Jeff points out, today’s “bombardment” for both kids and parents includes a lot more than a bloody nose, unfortunately. Never before have parents and their teenage and twenty-something kids faced the kinds of challenges we see today. Parents are working harder, earning less, stressing more. There are more emails (and texts, and tweets, and messages), more demands, and more energy expended, but less connection, less communication and less fun. Our high-school and college-age kids face unprecedented emotional challenges, and in many families, it’s difficult to even find the time to talk, to guide our kids, or even to simply be together. This kind of stress tears at the fabric of connection we all need and can make being a good parent very challenging. However, with the right tools, we can slow down, reconnect and lead our kids to safety, happiness and productivity.

This workshop is designed to provide parents support, time together to breathe and share, critical lessons in self-care and, ultimately, powerful ways to more fully communicate with and understand your kids. While you enjoy a delicious meal at the Jasper Hill Café, Jeff will help you decode your kid! The workshop will begin with a lively discussion of the modern challenges we face as parents. We’ll learn, discuss, connect and, at the same time, enjoy Jeff and Dave’s renditions of wonderful soulful music, which will only increase and enrich the learning environment.

Some of the issues to be discussed:

  • Responding skillfully to being tested by your child or teen(s)

  • Learning when and how to seek help

  • Blended families and single-parent households

  • Issues of substance abuse and how to recognize a problem

  • Managing frustration and anger effectively – and learning to let go

  • Smoothing out communication

  • Strengthening marriage

  • Educational issues

About Jeff: Born and raised in Newton, Massachusetts, and a graduate of Dartmouth College, Boston College School of Education and the Smith College School for Social Work, Jeff Levin has devoted his professional life (34 years and counting) to supporting young people. Beginning as a middle school English teacher, Jeff has worked in a wide variety of settings helping kids and families. His team-building workshops, all of which include live music, are relaxed, fun, inspiring and practical. One part challenging introspection, one part inspiration, one part joy, one part group energy, participants emerge with plans to change their lives using fresh, eminently practical methods that turn vision into reality.

About Dave: Dave Cirella is a master guitarist that has taught some of the best up and coming musicians in the Boston area. Dave has been thrilling audiences for decades. His commitment to his art is unwavering. Dave has played with many of the local greats including James Montgomery, Cheryl Arena, George McCann, Pete Henderson and countless others. You won't want to miss the special chemistry of Dave and Jeff as they launch into Blues and R&B favorites that excite the body and soothe the soul. Come and be entertained by the best!
