Dearest Jasper Hillers,
Many of you may or may not have already heard, but we are so sorry to announce that after several stops and starts, we are sadly closing our doors for good. I want you all to know that despite the financial difficulties, we tried very, very hard to keep this alive. We can’t stress enough how much we appreciate every single one of you who tried to help us achieve that. From even before we first opened our doors in Holliston, this endeavor has truly been a community effort. Seven years ago our family created this intimate little space for people of all ages to come together and enjoy the very best music in the area. Since then, our “family” has grown immensely. It has brought me great joy to witness the many friendships that grew from people gathering at our place over the years, bound by a love of this music.
I will never forget, as long as I live, the small army of customers, musicians, friends and friends of friends who converged on our new location in Millis, armed with tools, ready to help with whatever was needed to open. I can’t possibly personally name each and every one of you or this missive will go on for infinity, but please know that I will be forever grateful to each and every one of you. Whether you came to advise, help with the move, paint, wash dishes, clean carpets, donate artwork and equipment, hang décor or get down on your knees to scrub the place until it shined, your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten. This place belonged to all of us. Running a restaurant is not easy, nor for the faint of heart but just about every night, I would get hugs (God, how I miss those!) not only from those I knew, but sometimes from complete strangers, thanking me for what we were providing and for the good time that they had. I want you to know that it was people such as yourselves that kept us going, night after night. Watching people dancing and having a great time on the “smallest dance floor in town” brought me so much happiness. 😊 I hope that you continue to support the restaurants and venues out there who are struggling to stay above water. Please YELP responsibly and remember how very cool it is to be kind. 😊
To all of the musicians who brought the magic six nights a week (and Sunday afternoons), there isn’t enough space on here to express my gratitude for your gracing the stage at Jasper Hill over the years. I have been so honored to have had you play with us and you’ve no idea how many times your music has saved my soul and helped through difficult times. I love you all but wanted to especially thank those that held weekly and monthly residencies over the years. The Thursday night Hoedown with my ”boys” Chris Fitz & Steve Dineen which hosted countless celebrations. So many birthdays and even a wedding (Mark & CJ) and one very raucous funeral party (Ralph!) Also introduced us to one of our most dedicated supporters and performers-Ian Murawski! Ian, I cannot wait to see you take the stage again! Blake Thompson’s Open Mic along with his wife Kate Russo who’ve become dear friends of ours, John McArthur’s Young Adult Open Mic-so rewarding to see so many of these young performers grow over the years! Rob & Emily Zammarchi’s Saturday Morning Children’s Series, Dwayne Haggins, Chris McDermott, Baxter Hall, Peter Ward, Kamryn Person and Pete Henderson’s (legendary!) Sunday Night Blues Jam with his endless stream of amazingly talented players as well as some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Racky Thomas’ Medicine Show on Sunday afternoons was a balm for my soul. Listening to the band play several months after my dad passed allowed me to feel as though I could actually experience joy again. 😊 Racky, I still listen to your CD every Sunday but so look forward to seeing the show again live again. 😊 Music venues out there take note-Any of these acts would make an illustrious addition to your lineup. There are so many more I can recommend if you wanted to contact me.
Much appreciation to Sky Weir who’s been with us since day one, creating what I believe to be one of the best venue websites as well as flyers out there. Again, businesses take note-Hire her! She’s a perfectionist and will work her tail off for you! Last but most definitely not least, I want to thank all of my employees who went above and beyond for us, especially those that stayed till the bitter end, under sometimes difficult circumstances. Leslie, Deanna, Donna, Bella, Nick, Derek, Jason, Chris, & Eloy-we love, appreciate and miss you more than you’ll ever know and we WILL have that party as soon as normal rolls around again. 😊 Catch you all on the B side.
Peace, Love & Good Vibes,
The Tracy Family (Denise, John, David, Kevin, Sean, Tyler & Shaylyn)
